Manufacturing Process

Step 1: Layout Design

Artisans build a boundary matching the final tabletop's exact size using 1x1 inch scrap wooden battens. Within this temporary border, the raw wood slabs are carefully positioned to complement their organic edges and natural grain patterns. Cut lines are then outlined using chalk or a pencil, intentionally leaving an extra 1-inch margin for precise final trimming.

Step 2: Sizing the Slabs

The wood boards are cut down to the pre-marked measurements. During this process, all bark, punky spots, and decayed areas are carefully removed, leaving behind only the most solid and pristine timber. Making precise, clean cuts is crucial for creating a seamless, airtight bond when pouring the epoxy resin.

Step 4: Edge Sealing

Two coats max of epoxy seal cut edges, semi-cure 12–18 hours to prevent resin leak and bubbles while casting.

Step 5: Mold Fabrication

Smooth MDF panels are assembled into a mold with 2-inch extra space on length, width and height against the timber slabs. Quick-dry adhesive seals every joint to stop resin seepage. A full 24-hour curing period is required before casting epoxy resin.

Step 6: Mold Release Coating

Special epoxy mold release spray is applied twice to the mold interior. After a short drying interval, each coat is distributed uniformly to guarantee flawless demolding without surface damage.

Step 7: Resin Blending

We check epoxy resin for crystallization caused by low temperature, heating it softly to regain liquidity. Pour the resin into large containers and agitate with low-speed power mixers for over 4 minutes, thoroughly wiping the bucket sides and base for consistent mixing. The finished mixture undergoes vacuum degassing for half an hour to one hour to clear all micro air bubbles.

Step 8: Epoxy Pouring

Pour epoxy slowly in separate layers to reduce trapped air. After each layer, eliminate surface bubbles with a torch or heat gun. We usually cast 3–5 layers; intricate swirling patterns need extra layers. Each layer cures roughly 48 hours, while the top final layer requires a curing time of over 72 hours.

Step 9: Cure & Texture Refine

The number of epoxy pouring layers ranges from 3 to 5 according to the target thickness, with additional pours required for elaborate swirling patterns. Twelve hours after casting, when the resin still maintains good fluidity, artisans carve delicate textures via scrapers, precision combs and thermal tools, repeating operations to get perfect surface details. Every layer must fully cure for 48 hours prior to the next pouring step. The thicker final top coat requires more than 72 hours of curing to guarantee a bubble-free, transparent and sleek surface.

Step 10: Tabletop Demolding

After full curing of the epoxy piece, we take out all screws that fasten the mold frame. We softly strike each side panel with a rubber mallet, then use wooden wedges to gradually pry apart the mold, which allows us to safely lift the finished tabletop free of the mold.

Step 11: Precision Sanding Process

Patch surface imperfections with epoxy mixture and smooth flat. Sand step-by-step from 100 to 320 grit sandpaper with a sander, no skipped grits, for an even silky finish.

Step 12: Surface Polishing

We equip low-speed electric polishers with soft foam buff pads and carry out phased polishing lasting 30 to 60 minutes. The procedure yields transparent, ultra-smooth surfaces, and effectively prevents overheating of epoxy as well as uneven polishing streaks.

Step 13: Surface Finishing Coating

Five to six layers of protective finish are coated on the workpiece, with surface polishing carried out after every single layer to achieve a perfectly even, defect-free coating. The ultimate sealing topcoat is sprayed within a vacuum chamber, which thoroughly prevents dust from settling and ruining the finished surface.

Step 14: Quality Check & Complete Packaging

Each completed workpiece is thoroughly inspected to check surface finish and structural durability. Our multi-layer packaging system includes foam cushioning, wrapping fabric, cardboard liners, edge protectors and tailor-made wooden crates. The comprehensive protective structure prevents damage throughout long-distance transportation.
